Join us for an afternoon of timeless music, kicking off our 35th Anniversary season, American Tapestry: A Celebration of American Choral Music, featuring music by American composers such as Samuel Barber, Jake Runestad, Elaine Hagenburg, Robert Shaw & Alice Parker, and so many more with texts by American poets such as Sara Teasdale, and local historic poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar. We are so excited to be collaborating with nationally recognized hammered dulcimer musician, Amanda Roberts who will not only be performing on hammered dulcimer, but will be playing piano four hands with our very own Steven Aldredge! You’ll additionally be treated to many styles of music from Early American tunes to modern compositions, American folk melodies and new arrangements on vocal jazz standards such as an arrangement of Autumnal favorite, Autumn Leaves, and be the first to hear a premiere from a local composer. And SO MUCH MORE. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Reception to follow with prosecco and cookies.
